Couch surfing is the solution to reducing travelling expenses. Put in place things like accommodation has been a hectic process. Couch-surfing is seeking free accommodation from residents of where you are visiting. Some sites do provide couch-surfing services. The following is a guide for a perfect couch-surfing guest.

Give your host notice

This is the most basic step for any couch surfer. Plan your travels accordingly and give notice to your host. This notice should outline what you are expecting from the host. This will give them a chance to make plans accordingly. It also gets putting the host in inconvenient situations. Be sure to also list the activities that you expect you and the host to do together. Giving your host notice also allows them to work out your stay with their roommate if they have one. This will make your couch surfing nights to be more fun and memorable.

Ask About House Rules and Daily Schedules

Asking your host for their house rules and schedules allows you to see if you are a perfect match. It will also enable you to synchronize your activities with their daily schedules. Coordinating activities and knowing what is constantly needed will make you conversant with the inner workings of the house or residence. Be sure to also inquire about simple things such as what time the hosts get up and what time do they go to sleep. With all this in mind remember to be an open-minded person. You are a guest of the host, don’t judge them or force your opinions.

Bring a Gift

Getting your host a gift is a good gesture as a token of your appreciation. It doesn’t need to be something expensive or big. A gift will make your trip more memorable for you and your host. Should you not have time to find one before you get there, you can get them one before leaving. As your hosts are likely to be travelers, a unique gift is a way for them to experience something new.

Take part in house related activities

Seeing as your host has opened their living space to accommodate you, try and do your part. You can offer to cook or clean the house. Also, make sure that your living style is clean and neat. This will make your stay with your host an enjoyable on as they won’t have to nag you to do things. Offering to cook might be a welcomed activity. If your host works long hours, offering to cook will give you a chance to give them a new dietary experience. Also eating with them will make it easier for you to get to know them well. If it is a long friend than the chance to catch up is well needed.

Pack your things after Couch Surfing

Be sure that you pack everything before you leave. Leaving unwanted things in the host’s house is not a good gesture. Be a responsible guest and take your things. Make sure you also get rid of your rubbish so as not to inconvenience your host. Remember to also ask the guest if they would like something as a souvenir.

Following the above should turn you into a perfect couch surfing guest. Remember to also spend some of your time with your host. This will allow you to bond and make the whole experience memorable.
